Joining AVAC as the lead developer to finalize their WordPress website redesign, I was tasked with a pivotal role in a project already underway. My focus was on enhancing the site with custom content types, advanced search and filter capabilities, and diverse page templates. This was crucial for organizing AVAC’s extensive resources on HIV prevention and global health equity, making them easily accessible and navigable.
I also developed a range of page templates and components to effectively present varied content, from resources to research findings and policy updates. Ensuring the site’s optimal indexing was a key part of my work, enhancing its visibility and reach in line with AVAC’s mission as an international non-profit.
The completed redesign significantly improved the user experience and online presence of AVAC, aligning the website’s functionality and design with their goal of promoting health equity and effective HIV prevention worldwide.
