BROWNSTREETMRKT

Designing the logo for BROWNSTREETMRKT, a high-end clothing brand for Historically Black Colleges and Universities, presented an exciting and meaningful challenge. The project’s goal was to blend the rich heritage of these institutions with a contemporary brand aesthetic.

I focused on creating a logo that resonated with both history and modernity. Bold typography was chosen to showcase the brand’s forward-thinking and contemporary edge. To pay homage to the legacy of HBCUs, I integrated a line drawing of a historic building, a powerful emblem of the universities’ enduring spirit and history. This combination of classic imagery and modern design successfully bridged the gap between traditional values and a contemporary look, aligning seamlessly with BROWNSTREETMRKT’s ethos.

The final logo stood as a celebration of HBCU identity, resonating with our target audience and enhancing the brand’s visual identity. It was not just a symbol for the brand, but also a reflection of the rich heritage and values that BROWNSTREETMRKT and its clientele cherish. This project was a profound experience in weaving the visual story of HBCU heritage into the fabric of the fashion industry.
