For Camp Gully, an annual adult summer camp focused on community building through nature and wellness, I led the strategy, UX design, graphic and UI design, and development of their WordPress website. This initiative by Shanklin Hall aimed to extend its community engagement through immersive outdoor experiences.
My role started with designing the Camp Gully logo, which drew inspiration from traditional summer camps and nature. The use of a flag motif and a specific shade of serene green bridged the outdoor aesthetic with a color palette more commonly associated with wellness brands. The rugged lines in the design mirrored the organic shapes found in nature, embodying the camp’s spirit.
The website design embraced these themes, incorporating topography imagery and a green and red color scheme that complemented both the camp’s legacy imagery and its current branding. My work extended to both front-end and back-end development on WordPress, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience.
Key features of the site included animated marquees and background videos, creating a dynamic and lively online representation of the camp. The final website not only reflected Camp Gully’s ethos of nature and wellness but also offered an interactive and inviting digital experience for potential attendees.
