I played a pivotal role leading a collaborative team at Allegiance Group that partnered closely with the Rhode Island Community Food Bank to redesign their website. Our primary objective was to craft a website that not only provided essential information but also facilitated seamless donations and enabled visitors to locate nearby food banks with ease.
My role encompassed providing crucial technical insights and contributing to the strategic planning, user experience (UX), and design phases. Armed with initial wireframes and a desktop Figma design, I constructed a custom WordPress front-end and back-end. This included developing a unique theme and a specialized plugin, which introduced custom Gutenberg blocks to facilitate versatile page layouts.
Today, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank’s website stands as a pioneering resource, offering an extensive platform for accessing and analyzing vital information about the organization. By harnessing the capabilities of WordPress and integrating custom blocks, we’ve successfully brought the Food Bank’s vision to life.
