The website design and development for Shanklin Hall was a journey from an ambitious fundraising vision to its eventual reality. My task was to create a digital embodiment of the club that would seamlessly transition from a concept to an operational, physical space, while consistently reflecting its culture and brand.
From the outset, the website had to capture the essence and aspirations of Shanklin Hall as it was being conceptualized and funded. I designed interactive layouts featuring background videos and scroll-based animations, bringing the envisioned experience of the club to life online. Elements such as dynamic layout grids, changing background images and colors, and animated page components were used to create a sense of movement and excitement, mirroring the club’s progressive nature.
The site’s design was anchored in Shanklin Hall’s existing brand elements – the logo, color palette, and motifs from their print branding. This continuity ensured that as the club transitioned from a fundraising project to an established social hub, the website remained a true representation of its identity.
As Shanklin Hall opened its doors, the website evolved to reflect the reality of the club. High-quality photography and video content of the actual space were incorporated, seamlessly blending the initial vision with its physical manifestation. The layout remained clean and simple, ensuring ease of navigation while showcasing the club’s features and mission.
In the end, the website stood as a testament to Shanklin Hall’s journey. It not only served as a virtual introduction to the club but also evolved to become a real-time representation of its culture and ambiance. The design’s adaptability from concept to reality played a crucial role in maintaining a consistent and engaging brand experience for visitors, members, and potential investors.
